Prescott, AZ

When Andie and Holly were here, we headed up to Prescott for the day to take photos! They are so much fun to hang out with.. not too mention they are so talented as well. I love learning new things and they were great mentors that day :) Here are a few snapshots from the day… I had fun using some of Andie’s lightroom presets too:

While we were there, we had the yummiest Christmas Beer at the Prescott Brewing Company. I swear it tasted like Christmas… You MUST try it if you are there. I’m not a huge beer drinker, but it sure was delicious! We decided that next time they come out, we are going to stay at the Vendome in room 16.. only because it’s supposed to be haunted…eek!

When they were here we also took Miss Ellie out for a little photo shoot… those are coming soon!!! Tomorrow I am taking maternity photos! I guess I will have a lot to share in the upcoming days, so check back!!

Cystic Fibrosis Climb & Firefighter Challenge

You may remember that I wrote about taking pictures at the Cystic Fibrosis Climb and Firefighter Challenge last month.. well now I have the photos to show for it! I made a little slide show of the day. It was so fun! The event is getting bigger and better every year.. I only hope I get the opportunity to do it again next year!

Save the TaTas!

AS many of you know, my mother has recently finished her treatment for breast cancer! She did an amazing job. Anyway, when Tara Sroka emailed me and asked if I would participate in making a Digital Scrapbooking Kit to benefit breast cancer research, I jumped on the opportunity! So here it is:

Catching up

I feel like it takes me forever to write in between posts. I seriously don’t know how some people do it every day. Life is good.. steady and busy as usual. I’m so excited that my shows are back on! Grey’s was awesome as usual. I think it’s going to be taking a different twist then we are used to seeing. Not sure if I like the mean Richard or not.. hopefully it’s just a phase. I laughed so hard at “The Office” too. I can totally relate to the weight loss issues!! I still need to watch “Chuck” and a few other shows. Thank goodness for DVR.
On Sunday we headed to the Phoenix Zoo for Fisher Price day. We didn’t spend too much time there because it was so hot! I tell you, I’m ready for some cool weather to come our way. Today was a tiny bit breezy and it was wonderful. Ellie was more interested in the carousel than the animals. I swear I heard, “I need to ride the giraffe” about 50 times. Needless to say, she did ride it. Here are a few pics from the day:

Tomorrow is October. Is anyone else as shocked as I am about this. Where did the summer go? I mean really, wasn’t yesterday July??? Before you know it, Christmas will be here. Which reminds me.. if you want your family portraits done, now is the time to book them. I’m filling up fast :)

The “H” Family

Today I met my great friend JaNeal and her family for photos at the Farm at South Mountain.. it was hot, and poor little Ryan didn’t want to cooperate too much, but we did manage to get a few pictures that turned out great!

After we took photos we headed over to the little cafe’ for brunch. It was delicious! I will definitely have to eat there again. I downloaded the trial version of Adobe Lightroom 2.0 and I love it! I love playing with the colors in the pictures… I have some cool presets, one of which I used on the first photograph. I was going for the “vintage” look :)

Tonight I’m off to watch “True Blood” again. It’s nice having new shows to watch again. Speaking of shows.. this week, all my favorites are back! Woot!!!

I started my workout program at 5:30 am on M-W-F. I’m still sore from last Friday. All I can say is that I hope it gets easier. I swear I wanted to puke when I got home the first day. Out of shape… pretty much sums me up.

Ok.. rambling… Have a great week!

Which Grey’s character are you?

So I was hoping the new Grey’s was on tonight.. but nope. I have to wait until next week!  I love that show!  I can’t wait.  In the mean time, I went to the ABC website and took a little quiz!

{Jessica & Danny’s Wedding Slide Show}

It’s finally here.. Jessica and Danny’s slide show!! I know they have patiently waited to see this too :)

I tell you.. they were such a fun couple to work with! Those desert shots came out perfect!

On a different note.. yesterday, I had a great time down at the Arizona Center taking photos for the Cystic Fibrosis foundation.. what a cool thing. Tomorrow I will post all of the information on that!

Ellie

Here are some of the photos I took of Ellie at the park on Sunday. She is such a stinker!! She will barely look at my camera!  I did manage to get a few, so I’m good with that. She LOVES preschool and specifically she loves the bus. Everyday I ask about school and everyday she tells me about the bus. It’s so funny.

I really don’t have too much to report this week. Tonight I’m going to watch the new HBO series “True Blood”. I seem to love most HBO series, so I hope this is just as good.  School is busy as usual, but I’m really starting to feel settled and getting the hang of things. It’s always hard starting new jobs.. hopefully I’ll have this one for a long time.

The “M” Family!

Yesterday morning I had the honor of taking photos of the “M” family! Now this has been a long time in the making and it finally happened.  I was originally supposed to take pictures of their newest addition, but due to sickness and schedules, we had to skip it.. then we attempted to get together again, and again our schedules didn’t work… then I got an email asking if I was available yesterday and I was… I’m pretty sure it was all worth the wait too! They are an awesome family and great to work with..even the guys who don’t like having their pictures taken did well too *wink*.  The children were adorable!!  Here’s a little sneak peek from the day:

Today I went to see the movie Mamma Mia It was so cute! I’ve seen the play and this was equally as good. It almost made you get up and dance right there in the movie theater!   Who knew that Meryl Streep could sing?!  Pierce on the other hand, didn’t do too well, but he was still nice to look at.  My favorite actor was in it too…ahh Collin Firth (aka Mr. Darcy).  Anyway, if you haven’t seen it and your a fan of ABBA, I recommend it.

Today I also took Ellie out to get some updated photos of her. I haven’t pulled them off of the camera yet, but I’ll post a few of those when I do. Hopefully she actually looked at the camera this time!!

Hayden will be turning 1!!!

In honor of Hayden’s upcoming Birthday, her parents decided to get some photos done! She is so stinkin’ cute!!!  She was so good and put up with us putting her all over the place.. the ground, the slides, the bucket, the paper, with balloons, etc… she was amazing!!  She had the most beautiful eyes too! Here are a few from the day!

(This vintage looking one has to be my new all time favorite photo too!!! I love the way it turned out!)

See.. I told you she was adorable!!!

Happy Labor Day!!  Today we headed over to some friend’s house for lunch and swimming. Of course Ellie was a complete fish.  I had the opportunity to play with my friend Scott’s macro lens.. very cool, but I have a huge learning curve.  I will post some of those pictures tomorrow!  Overall it was a pretty fun weekend.. full of friends and food.  (A recipe for a good time right?!) Oh and lot’s of Wii playing on Saturday. I’m becoming quite the wii bowler.. LOL.  Have a great week!
